Convert PNG to TIFF

TIFF is what scanners, print shops and archives ask for. It's lossless like PNG, so nothing degrades, but it's the format the rest of that world actually accepts. Files come out larger.

What is PNG?

PNG is the web's lossless image format. It compresses without ever degrading the picture and has a real alpha channel, which is why screenshots, logos, line art and anything with sharp edges or text belong in it. The trade is size: on a photograph, PNG is enormous compared to JPG.

What is TIFF?

The format print shops, scanners and archives run on. Lossless, capable of holding several images in one file, and old enough that everything in that world reads it. Files are large, which nobody in print has ever minded.
