What this is
The Wizard Toolbox file converter - formerly FileSorcery - is a file converter that runs inside the page you're reading. Drop something in and it's converted by your own browser, using code this site already sent you - 60 formats and 368 conversions, all of them free, with no account and no upload.
Why it works this way
Most converters take your file, put it on a server somewhere, convert it there and hand it back. That means your file sits on a stranger's machine, you wait in a queue behind everyone else, and there's usually a size limit and a daily cap to push you toward paying.
Nothing here leaves your computer, so none of that applies. There's no queue because there's no server doing the work - your own machine is doing it. Large files aren't a problem for anyone but your own memory. And nobody can leak, sell or subpoena a file they never received.
Codes as well as conversions
The same page also makes scannable codes: QR Code, Code 128, EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A, Code 39. Type what it should say and the code is drawn here, in this page, as an SVG that prints at any size or a PNG that pastes anywhere. Drop a .txt or .csv and every line becomes its own code, zipped together - the bulk feature the other generators put behind a subscription.
What it handles
Photos and images including HEIC from an iPhone, video and the soundtracks inside it, audio, 3D models for printing and the web, spreadsheets and structured data, GPS tracks and map files, subtitles, fonts and archives. Drop several files or a zip and they're converted together, which costs nothing here either.
Some things genuinely can't be done in a browser - usually formats needing a patent-licensed decoder it doesn't ship with. Those are refused by name with an explanation rather than failing strangely.
