How it works
Paste your text, then click what you want done to it. Each button changes the text in the box, so you can do several in a row: trim each line, remove duplicates, then sort. Undo steps back one change at a time, up to 50 changes.
Fixes worth chaining
To clean a pasted list, press Trim each line, Remove empty lines, Remove duplicates and Sort A–Z, in that order. Trimming comes first because apple and apple with a space after it are different lines until the space goes. To turn a heading into a file name or a web address, press lowercase and then kebab-case.
Number, shuffle and reverse
Number lines puts 1., 2., 3. in front of each line and pads the numbers so they line up past 9. Shuffle puts the lines in a random order, drawn from your browser's cryptographic random source. Reverse order turns the list upside down; Reverse text spells the whole text backwards.
Questions
Is my text sent anywhere?
No. Every change happens in this page on your device, and nothing is saved once you close it.
Is there a page for just one of these?
Yes. The Case Converter, Remove Duplicate Lines, Sort Lines Alphabetically, Remove Line Breaks and Find and Replace pages open this same tool with that job first, and everything else still below it.
How do I count words?
Use the Word Counter, which also gives reading time.
