How it works

These are not fonts in the usual sense. Unicode, the standard every phone and computer uses for text, includes whole alphabets of styled letters for mathematics: bold, italic, script, gothic and more. This tool swaps each of your letters for its styled twin, so the style travels with the text wherever you paste it, even where you cannot choose a font.

Mixing styles

Pick the letters first, then tick what to add. Bold and Italic switch to Unicode's bold or italic alphabet for that style where one exists: bold script, bold gothic, bold italic sans. Bubble and Squares turn solid when bold. Underline and Strikethrough go on top of anything.

Where it works, and where it does not

Most apps show them: Instagram, TikTok, X, Discord, WhatsApp and game names that accept Unicode. Some letters are missing from some styles, so they stay plain, and older devices may show empty boxes. Screen readers read these letters as maths symbols or skip them, and search does not find them, so keep your real name, hashtags and links in plain letters.

Questions

Why can I not tick italic with some styles?

Unicode only has the combinations it has. Script and gothic have a bold version but no italic one, and outline, typewriter, small caps, wide and upside down have neither, so those boxes turn off. Underline and strikethrough are marks added after each letter, so they work with every style.

Is there a page for one style?

Yes: bold, cursive, Old English, bubble, strikethrough and upside down text each have one. They open this same tool on that style.

Can I use these in a username?

Many games and apps accept them in display names; fewer accept them in the name you log in with. Try it, and keep a plain version in case it is refused.
